The battle of Verdun began 95 years ago today with an unprecedented German artillery barrage of the French lines. That must of sucked for all the French solders enjoying their baguettes.

The song tries to capture the duration of the battle. All 10 months of it; from the beginning approaching thunder, to the the fading, stormy and quiet conclusion. Enjoy in the comfort of your warm home (or rat infested trench…your call).

I wouldn't want to have been in a position to have been worthy of receiving this medal

About David Spengler

I'm David Spengler and I have a mini recording studio up in my attic. I decided to write a song every week for 7 weeks. Let me know what you think. Feel free to request something. A possible themed song perhaps. I just may be able to write a custom ditty just for you!
